Youth Ministry
Our vision is to love youth with the passionate love of God, disciple them in the context of authentic,
deep relationships and challenge them to commit their lives to the holy adventure of faith.
Youth Ministry Architects
At the end of May, Youth Ministry Architects, a consulting group that helps churches create sustainable youth ministries, will be at Gayton. We encourage you to invest in the future of youth ministry by signing up for one of their “Listening Groups.” Each session lasts 75 minutes and allows you the opportunity to share your experiences and dreams. Students, parents and volunteers are all encouraged to participate.
Youth Ministry Architects will be at Gayton May 30-June 1. To participate in a listening session, click here.

Within the youth ministry are two distinct ministries: Middle School (6th-8th grades) and High School (9th-12th grades). Through these two ministries, we desires to see youth enter into age-appropriate conversations and relationships with adult leaders, other youth and grow in their relationship with God.
Our youth ministry is filled with students from local area middle and high schools who gather together and share in life together seeking to know God and make Him known through their daily lives and in these ministries:
Sunday Bible Study
Youth experience Bible study and fellowship on Sunday mornings led by great leaders. They explore Biblical truths and how to apply it to their lives through a creative and systematic approach to Bible study. Classes at 11:00am include: 6th-7th grades; 8th grade; 9th grade; 10-11th grades; and 12th grade. A youth Bible study (6th-12th grades) is also offered at 9:45am.
ENGAGE
Sunday nights from 6:00 to 7:30, youth join for worship through music, teaching, relationships, and creative elements. This youth group time is a highlight of the week for many youth in our church and community. At ENGAGE, the High School Ministry meets in the youth room (downstairs) and the Middle School Ministry meets in the Worship Center (upstairs).

Wednesday Bible Study
On Wednesday nights, our youth gather for Bible study from 6:30-7:30 PM [Middle School & High School studies]. Ready to dig deep into God’s Word? These studies will help our youth gain a deeper understanding of their faith.
LifeGROUPS
A significant part of our youth ministry is through intentional relationships we like to call LifeGROUPs. LifeGROUPs will be developing throughout the year and launch for the entire youth group very soon. These groups will offer a time of discipleship, accountability, and rich relationship building with our adult youth leaders. LifeGROUPs will shape the way GBC Youth 2.0 is formed.
CREATE [Creative Arts Ministry]
As God is revealing, sharpening, and leading our youth to discover their gifts and talents in the creative arts world, we provide opportunities to develop and use those skills through Create. CREATE meets on Sunday afternoons from before ENGAGE.
Justice/Adventure [Community Missions]
As our youth group is pursuing a mission outside of ourselves, we seek to right the wrongs of the world through missions in our community and world. Throughout the year, we offer projects for both the high school and middle school. In addition, our annual summer mission trips are highlights of the year in GBC youth ministry.
Retreats & Youth Weekend
Often times a change of geography equals a change of perspective from the heart. Throughout the fall, we will retreat to give a fresh perspective away from the comforts of home and offer our youth a time to be spiritually challenged within our youth group and more importantly within our relationship with God. In addition, during the Spring semester our church enjoys Youth Sunday and a Youth Weekend.
